Core i7 5960X - 5930K and 5820K processor review - Performance - System Memory: DDR4 Quad Channel Memory Read & Write

Performance System Memory: Memory Read Test

So for memory we had some good stuff to work with, Intel has a couple of certified partners for memory to get some sweet XMP 2.0 profiles going.

For DDR4 2133 MHz is the new norm, albeit 1333/1600 and 1866 MHz are supported as well. But 2133 MHz is what your BIOS will default to with JEDEC timings. In AIDA memory tests we see good performance hovering at the 55K marker.

Memory Write Test

We did the same with the memory write tests. The Write performance jumps towards roughly 47K. When the system is overclocked you will achieve even higher results.

Above - Default clock frequency on CPU / 2133 Mhz on DDR4 - it is quad channel so that already rocks hard.

And for a little more domination, 3000 MHz on DDR4 (XMP) / 3750 MHz on the processor clock as the XMP profile requires a higher bus frequency. Nearing 60K Read and 47K MB/sec on writes.
