Product Showcase - The finished build

On this page, you’ll find a selection of photos of the finished build inside the Cooler Master Masterbox Q500L. The GPU that we used here has an AIO LCS, and the CPU is cooled (for measurements) only with air (Thermalright True Spirit 120 Direct) as the NZXT Kraken X62 is too large to fit.

For the purpose of this photo section, the Noctua NH-U12 was used as it's close to the clearance offered for CPU cooler (158 mm of NH-U12 vs 160 mm in Q500L). There was no issue with compatibility in that scenario. The motherboard is an ATX form factor one based on the Z390 chipset, with a de-lidded i7 8700K @ 4.8 GHz inside. The GPU comes from Aorus, and it’s the Waterforce version (GeForce GTX 1080 Ti). The final result looks quite nice. There were no major issues with installing the components inside. The PSU is mounted using a removable bracket, but it has to be fixed to the front wall of the chassis. If you’re installing a modular PSU, be sure to attach your cables first, as once the PSU is installed, access to your modular cable ports is going to be limited. Overall, fitting all the cables of the test setup in the case wasn’t very difficult, but it’s still better to route the EPS power cable before attaching the motherboard to the tray. The white backlight of the power button on the panel is the only element that stands out during operation.

You won’t find a ton of loose cables here. As you can see, the Noctua NH-U12A fits, but we had to remove the second fan to be able to fit the GPU’s AIO radiator as well. Now for some shots with the LEDs on.

The only piece of lighting on the Masterbox Q500L is the white LED in the shape of the CM logo’s outline around the power button.

The last two shots are with the custom magnetic filters made for Guru3d.
