For socket LGA 775 you need to install it as shown above. First you need to take out your motherboard, then place four standoffs at the front side, push them through the holes and the back plate and then screw them secure with four nuts.

classic example of using too much thermal paste!

Here at the fornt side we can now see the four standoffs. Also this is the point where you should lube up that processor with some thermal paste. Of course smear it out evenly, and one please use one or two drops only okay ?
