Cooler Master HAX 912

Size doesn't matter?

Cooler Master HAX 912Cooler Master has armed its HAF chassis lineup with two new models, the 80 EUR tagged HAF 912 Plus and the 75 EUR costing 'regular' HAF 912.

The rugged looking militaristic inspired HAF series now makes a move from the big full tower chassis towards a more conventional sized mid-tower series, tagged with an attractive price of course. Sensible or conventional sized doesn't mean a small chassis lacking space though, to the contrary... the HAF 912 series makes sure that big components like lengthy high-end graphics cards easily fit into your PC, making it an attractive option for many of you. See, let's face it, most of the high-end users typically have up-to 3 HDDs, one full size ATX motherboard, one high-end graphics card, one soundcard, one optical drive and a PSU. So while most of us end up with big full towers, it all fits easily into a mid-tower like the HAF 912 series easily as well.

The mid-tower design also does not compromise on features, as liquid cooling still is an option, the HAF 912 is 9.1" wide, an inch wider than comparable mid towers in its class (230 x 480 x 496 mm). This allows for an extra .61" inches behind the motherboard tray with convenient cable management cutouts. The HAF 912 was designed for cable management as well, you can hide large cables behind the motherboard using the cable tie attachment points on the rear of the motherboard as well as a CPU retaining hole.

You'll spot a total of four exposed 5.25-inch optical drive bays and then another six hidden 3.5-inch bays, plus one converted from 5.25. There is also a front I/O panel, with two USB 2.0 connectors and the standard audio ports. Cooler Master opted to go for removable dust filters on the bottom and front covers, as well as a two 120mm fans, for good air cooling. You will get one 120mm fan at the upper backside, which if you wanted to can be replaced with a 200mm fan, and then at the front we have one 1200 RPM 120mm fan.

But have a quick peek first... meet the HAF 912 Plus
