Computex 2009 - Day 0 Before it all begins

Hello all and welcome to the first Computex update. What a crazy week it is my friends, last week we of course had to celebrate the fact that Guru3D.com turned 10. I of course hope you all really enjoyed what we did that week with our rather unique articles, and of course, the three competitions that (still) are running.

That week didn't even end and yours truly had to catch a plane to Taiwan, as on Tuesday the 2nd Computex is beginning. After a 16 hour flight, and then the residual hours of automotive traveling, we finally arrived in Taipei. And luckily for us there was already some stuff to do. Minutes after checking into the hotel I hopped on a taxi to the New York-New York venue located very close to the TWTC exhibition grounds and that always impressive building, the Taipei 101.

Now I'm not afraid of heights but if you stand all the way at the first floor, and look up into the sky... you'll notice that the building is roughly 550 meters in height. So impressive, and sure... even a little scary.

Taipei 101 Skyscraper

Taipei is always Taipei, people with mouth caps, a gazillion taxis and in the center of Taipei... scooters, thousands and thousands of scooters. It's always very fun to see the cultural differences, especially when coming from a country like the Netherlands (where I come from).

It really feels a little like New York when you see all the yellow cabs

So this week you'll be able to read Computex reports coming from Taipei. We'll try and do this in a loose style as you are used to from us, similar to our CeBIT articles. We brought along some pretty dandy photo-kit and hope to bring  you some nice photos of the newest stuff shown at Computex 2009.

Today is day-0, as in one day before Computex starts. We typically have a peek at the exhibition grounds, pick up the press-badge etc. etc. However, NVIDIA gave a press-conference which we just attended, we'll start off our reporting there, and then head onwards to the exhibition grounds where, if allowed, we'll sneak in and see stands being build, people practicing their presentations, booth-babes learning their dance routines and of course... the usual stress and madness to get everything going.

Welcome to Taipei, welcome to Guru3D's Computex 2009 Report.

Next page please.

It's silly we know, it's not at all related to journalism I know and you know what, it's not professional or even friendly towards women. But but any guy will agree with me, it's in our genes and as such I call a joker card on this. We men just can't help it. Welcome to an article without a lot words, it's just women... the booth babes of Computex 2010.
