Once you use some wizard software you can access the camera directly by going to it's HTTP address with say IE or Chrome and FireFox. Now there are quirks with that, for IE the Compro makes is that the camera's web viewer interface only works via an ActiveX control for Internet Explorer. Each time you close and start a new window an ActiveX component needs to be installed as it's unsigned by microsoft.Mmassively irritating. From what I understand is that the latest firmware from Compro's website now replaces an unsigned ActiveX control which caused that problem in IE, not 100% sure either though..

For Chrome and FF a VLC codec needed to be installed. It was such a labyrinth that an end user should not battle with that we did not even try.

Back to IE, once you get it going then the browser viewer is easy and convenient to use, in fact it might be the best Web based GUI we've ever seen for a security camera.

Even the preferences and setup over HTTP is extensive. Lots of options and configuration features, you can go wild here.

Even directly from within the camera you can enable events and motion detection. Works quite well also.
