There are two ways to make use of the IP70, with a  software suite installed on your computer, or via a web-based GUI. We'll show the PC software suite first, which is called ComproView.

You install the software, it will detect the camera in the network and you then enter a default user name and password (to be located in the manual and  can be changed of course). You are led through a reasonably quick and intuitive installation process. Your knowledge level should at least include an understanding of DHCP and configurable IPs.

The camera can run at up to 30 frames per second at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA), and upping this to 1,280 x 1,024 lowers the maximum frame rate to 15.

The overall interface is good and straight forward. Excellent options are available, especially in event and recording modes you'll have a plethora of features. You can choose constant recording, time-based and event-based.

Events detection include motion and audio detection (when the microphone picks up "apprehensive" noises). Of course you can also select where to store recordings, and you have a choice of any storage connected to the network. Once you dig into the preferences the sky is the limit.

Video can be saved to your local (network) drive but also on a MicroSD card that you can insert into the camera.

Don't mind the worlds most lazy cat in his own claimed chair. If you want multiple camera's in your house, that's possible. The software allows you to use up-to 16 cameras at once. With the Ip70 we'd advise not use more than four cameras though.

But let's have a look at network HTTP browsing, as in fact you do not really need this software if you want to stick to just one camera.
