Replacing Thermal Paste
Replacing Thermal Paste & Thermal Effect
We always disassemble the cards to check them out and show you what it under the hood, as such afterwards we also always have to replace the default thermal insulation material (TIM) applied to the GPU. Before anyone asks, we do that after all tests are finished. A question from you guys often is this one, does replacing TIM that have an effect?
We apply a Noctua NT-H2 compound, reassemble the card and run our heat up sequence.
Above the measurement with default thermal paste applied, we max out at 66 Degrees C
Above the measurement with the thermal paste replaced, we max out at the same 66 Degrees C
