The keyboard houses red Cherry MX switches, these days there are several flavors aside from the LED backlit versions as well.

  • Cherry MX Black - Linear switch with Actuation Force: 60g (40g-80g overall)
  • Cherry MX Brown Switches - Tactile Switch with Actuation Force: 45g (55g Peak Force)
  • Cherry MX Blue Switches - Tactile & Clicky with Actuation Force: 50g (60g Peak Force)
  • Cherry MX Red Switches  - Linear Switch with Actuation Force: 45g

Basically there are four types of Cherry MX switches available: red, black, blue and brown. Each color switch feels different. We have the red variety. After having tested many similar keyboards, my personal preference is slowly growing to brown switches.

Our MX board 6.0 is equipped with Cherry red MX switches as you can see, these are light and responsive. Cherry MX Red mechanical switches are intended for for fast, efficient gaming action with 45g actuation force.  The keys are curved a little and are rubberized which gives them a unique feel.

The MX Board 6.0 has fairly short ABS keycaps, lasered to allow the back lighting through. The keyboard includes red LEDs, with, get this, a 100 levels of brightness. There are +/- 1% keys on F5 and F6, with +/- 10% keys on F7 and F8 to speed things up. There’s also an off setting, toggled with F9.
