Final words and conclusion

The Silentbase 600 is the little brotah from the 800. It has the very same feel and style, yet a few features have been scrapped and obviously this is the more compact edition at a mid-tower size. The quality remains good, it is a strong and sturdy product and the looks will work out greatly for most of you. Be quiet! offers this chassis at a 109 EURO price tag for the regular panel version, and the windowed version is also available for 124 EURO. All the cases are black, with either black, orange, or silver accents, and they all come with two Pure Wings 2 fans pre-installed. We do recommend that a double-glazed polycarbonate side window version as it does make the chassis look even better. The primary three features of space, aesthetics and being a silent product will be well achieved

Aesthetics

You can choose black, black-gun / metal silver and this black-orange version. We feel the black/orange version will be the more appealing product, albeit taste differs per person of course. We do have to say that the chassis feels a bit like it's a lot of plastic, but then again we have to say .. it's done right. The all black design is nice, the colored version with the orange accents IMHO looks better though. Aesthetics wise things are kept simple. On the more simple side of things, added benefits are of course the two USB 3.0 ports, the mainboard cutout on the motherboard tray and the overall tool free design. We do miss the extra feet / stand that the 800 does have as that does bring the 800 a little more niche in terms of looks. But overall we feel this is a good looking product.

The work space inside is decent enough for a mid-sized tower chassis. make sure though that your motherboard will conform with the standard ATX form factor as a maximum as the chassis can house ATX, Micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards. There's also good space for routing cables and, well, hiding them of course. With good access to pretty much everything and with 7 expansion slots there is plenty of room for two or three graphics cards. Bear in mind though that some restrictions do apply when it comes to length of the graphics cards, especially when using more than one of them. This definitely needs to be checked out before installing multiple graphics cards. The all black interior, cool looks, the CPU back-plate cutout for easy installation/replacement of CPU-coolers and overall features that belong in the mainstream to high-end segment all add value.

Final words

We have little complain about with the SilentBase 600. It looks good, has decent features and is exactly what is in the name, silent. We would like to see a fan controller embedded and perhaps them swanky-diddley feet the 800 offers, as with chassis, it is all about looks and the extras that the competition does not offer. Due to its size you will have less liquid cooling options as well, but 120/240mm radiators would fit with a bit of creativity. AIO LCS kits should not be a problem if you stick to that 240mm radiator. The 600 as such definitely feels a little more 'standard'. Regardless of that fact, it is a good chassis. There is one problem though, it might be positioned at a too high price. Right now you will have to pay €109 for the regular model, and if you want the version with see-through panel you'll have to chunk out €124, with similar prices in USD. For a product in this segment, that simply is not cheap. For the money you receive a well thought through chassis with decent features and good quality. The finished product looks quite lovely, though taste differs per person we do like the version as tested today witht he orange accents. If I had to rate it I'd give it an 7 out of 10. So yes the 600 does feel a litte more normal opposed to the excellent 800 which has that premium feel. But it's a good looking product that features and noise wise should tick most boxes for you. We can certainly recommend the Silent Base 600 very much, if you think it is worth that dough though.
