Included in the kit is everything you need, there are a few components you need to assemble, we'll take you through that on the next page though. What I like about heat pipe coolers opposed to LCS units is their simplicity. Cooling block, fan, and one PWM cable install these and you're done. Installation is simplified thanks to a top mount design with included screwdriver. The top cover of Shadow Rock 3 is made from brushed aluminum and features a two-color surface treatment for a bit more visual design.

All that cooling real estate will bring you a cooling capacity of 190W of heat. More than enough for most common processors and your usage habits. You can see the weird positioning of the direct heat pipe connecting cooling block. The spacing can be utilized for RAM/DIMM coverage of say a high VRM heatsink.  it does look a little quirky we agree.

Shadow Rock 3 now implements five 6mm heat pipes with heat pipe direct touch (HDT) technology.

Hmm yeah, aesthetically however LCS will win anytime. As mentioned on the previous page, I do miss te black powder coating. To top has a nice cap though. The unit comes with a Shadow Wings 2 120mm PWM high-speed fan that is rated to only hit 24 dB at full throttle (1600rpm)
