The cooler is packaged well, cushioned and bundled safely in the traditional black / white / orange be quiet! design box.

Once unboxed you'll spot the cooling unit consisting of the heatsink assembly, fan and brackets + back plate that supports a very wide range of AMD and Intel processors. A little thermal paste is pre-applied to the cooling block well. The weight sits at 360 grams and it only comes with three 6 mm heatpipes that deliver heat to a total of 33 aluminum fins.

Above, the cooler placed on its back, we can see the base plate. It uses three copper based heat pipes arranged in a U-shaped design with the fan located at the opposing side in the middle. The pure copper fins effectively disperse heat away from the CPU via composite heat pipes.  The fin stack itself is moved back slightly in order to bring the fan closer to the center of the cooler,= and helping with RAM compatibility.

On top you will place the new SilentWings fan, a 92-millimetre PWM-version which has airflow-optimised fan blades. The unit fan spin at up to 2,000 RPM with PWM control, pushing 35.13 CFM of air, creating 1.67 mm of air pressure, and making up to 25.4 dBA of noise. At 50% duty, the fan will produce only 13.1 dBA. And in our testing you will notice, at processor defaults you cannot hear this fan.
