Final words and conclusion

The Pure Base 600 is the little sister of the Silent Base 600. If you compare it to that product we do find the Pure Base 600 a little less thrilling. It all feels a little run-of-the-mill, then again it's in the name PURE as it really is a chassis in its more simple and pure design. Features wise you'll have everything you need plus the space to work in. Extra is the sound dampening padding and the fan controller, which do give it a little more appeal. be quiet! offers this chassis at a 79~89 EURO price tag for the regular panel version. The cases are black, with either black or silver accents, and they all come with two Pure Wings 2 fans pre-installed. The primary three features of space, aesthetics and being a silent product are all present.

Aesthetics

I already stated it, everything with the Pure Base 600 is a llittle more normalized opposed to what I am used to from be quiet! I would have liked to have seen a few more bold accents in its design as really, this is looking a tad too normal for what it is. Perhaps though, it was intended to be that way, a non-obtrusive functional chassis with a focus on silence. The chassis feels a bit like it's a lot of plastic, but that also doesn't bother me the slightest bit. The all-black design is nice, but more of the same that we see from other chassis from other brands. Aesthetics wise things are kept simple.

The work space inside is decent enough for a mid-sized tower chassis. Make sure though that your motherboard will conform with the standard ATX form factor as a maximum as the chassis can house ATX, Micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards. There's also good space for routing cables and, well, hiding them of course. With good access to pretty much everything and with 7 expansion slots there is plenty of room for two or three graphics cards. Keep in mind though that some restrictions do apply when it comes to length of the graphics cards, especially when using more than one of them. This definitely needs to be checked out before installing multiple graphics cards. The all-black interior, cool looks, the CPU back-plate cut-out for easy installation/replacement of CPU-coolers and overall features that belong in the mainstream to high-end segment all add value.

Final words

We surely cannot complain about the Pure Base 600, however we do not get that x-factor / special feel either. That makes this Pure Base 600 a decent product in the be quiet! lineup of chassis. That's okay though as they need to serve all channels and address all markets, right? The chassis has a decent feature-set and it offers what is in the name, silence. We very much like the fact that a fan controller has been embedded. A chassis anno 2017 however is all about looks and the extras compared to what the competition offers. The extras are there, the overall design and looks are a bit common. Due to its size you will have less liquid cooling options as well, but 120/240/280mm radiators will fit with a bit of creativity. 360 is possible but at the cost of HDD/optical bays. AIO LCS kits should not be a problem if you stick to that popular 240mm radiator size. Overall we feel it is a well built and sturdy chassis. We feel it is priced a bit too high. At launch you will have to pay €79~89 for the model as tested today, and that is a bit steep. You do get sound dampening and the fan controller as extras, so yes, that is worth something as well I guess. Overall, and in closing, this is an okay looking product that has a focus on offering enough features and tackles most noise issues that people have. From that viewpoint we can certainly recommend the Pure Base 600 very much, if you feel it suits your taste in design and fits your wallet, of course.
