Specifications and features

be quiet! is known for making technologically-advanced, and absolutely the quietest PC equipment available. I mean they kinda jinxed it for themselves as when you name your company be quiet!.. yes, the one thing that people expect is that your products are very quiet :)

True to the motto “form follows function” the Dark Base 900 PRO PC case offers a lovely symbiosis of noise prevention, cooling performance, usability and an extensive capacity for high-end hardware. Well, all that and terrific looks of course. The Dark Base 900 offers whisper quiet operation, that remains intact with the windowed version through the innovative tempered glass panel, and good cooling performance. be quiet! has achieved the latter through intelligent air flow and three pre-installed Silent Wings 3 fans. In addition, the case is characterized by its optimal layout and easy hardware installation. Also, comprehensive dust protection is provided by numerous filters. The chassis has noise dampening on the panels, an integrated fan and LED controller. Let's summarize the primary features of this mid-sized enthusiast class tower chassis.

A flexible modular design:

  • Tray can slide up and down to fit all sizes of Mainboard (ITX – XL ATX)
  • Tray can be taken out and used as a bench table
  • Full system can be pre-installed, tested and dropped back into the body in one step
  • Tray can be mounted inverted
  • Side panel with the window can be installed on both sides as well
  • Every HDD/ODD has a single cage and can be placed everywhere
  • Water-cooling can be mounted in all areas:
    • Front: 1x ‪240/360/420 mm
    • Rear: 1x 120/140 mm
    • Bottom: 1x 140/240 mm
    • Top: ‪120/140/240/280/360/420 mm (up to 65 mm high)

Silence

  • - The size of case + modularity = less hotspots and better airflow
  • - More intakes and outtakes for better airflow
  • - Noise breaking vents all around the case
  • - Anti-vibration rubber block stands
  • - Fully decoupled mainboard tray
  • - Decoupled HDD drives
  • - New sound insulation foam with different materials to absorb different frequencies
  • - 4mm tempered glass window with rubber seal
  • - Silent Wings 3 PWM (Higher pressure at the same volume)
    • 6-pole motor
    • New optimized IC
    • Anti Vibration Mounting system
    • 2x 140mm in the front with 1000 rpm
    • 1x 140mm in the rear with 1000 rpm
  • Integrated fan controller for up to 4 PWM fans and 4 non-PWM fans
  • Mode A: adjusted by the mainboard
  • Mode B: adjusted manually
  • 0,8-1 mm steel + real aluminum (no foil)
  • PRO model: 4 mm tempered glass window in the side panel
  • PRO model: 4 PWM and non-PWM fan connectors + PWM hub
  • PRO model: 2 multi-color RGB LED strips connected to the central control panel
  • PRO model: Qi charger: cable-free charging

There are three color options available - black and orange, black and silver, or all-black (our sample). Aside from the color options, there will be two models available, the Dark Base 900 and the Dark Base 900 PRO with the PRO options listed above. Respectively they will cost 199 Euro and 249 Euro (MSRP).

If you purchase the Pro model and have a compatible Qi charging smart-phone, you certainly are going to love this feature.
