So Battlefield 4 continues the tradition of Army shooter gameplay style game, allowing players to go where they want and do what they want within a linear storyline, thanks to a large number of optional in-game activities that support the lengthy single-player campaign.
 

Frostbite 3 is the rendering engine, the infra-structure for this next generation version of the engine. The Frostbite 3 engine will impact players, thanks to dynamic environments that allows the development team to add more environmental destruction “than ever”. The engine is powering games like Battlefield 4, but also Need for Speed: Rivals (to be released in November, 2013), Star Wars: Battlefront (set to release the Q2/Q3 of 2015) and the prequel to Mirror's Edge.
 

The game engine has several upgrades including improved tessellation technology. It also features Destruction 4.0, which enhances the in-game destruction over its predecessors. Frostbite 3 takes advantage of DirectX 11 on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8. Windows XP is not supported anymore.
 

Frostbite 3 offers up quite a few upgrades over it’s predecessor like more dynamic weather, realistic fire, full day/night cycles, and non-scripted AI. Frostbite 3 will also power Dragon Age: Inquisition, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and the next Mass Effect.
 

Booyah - headhot ! It has been announced that DICE would be including support for the mantle (API) into frostbite 3, with Battlefield 4 being the first game to implement the low level tool set through a patch in December 2013.
 

The gameplay shows some really intense firefights with lots of debris and leftover destruction flying around. Not everybody likes the Single Player mode story line, but I dig it alright.
