AV123 ELT 525M 2.0 Desktop Speaker System

Here we have the 1" dome tweeter that provides the high range for these speakers. Notice the fit and finish, quite nice and usually unseen at this price point. Let's take a look at the muscle of the family the 5.25" custom woofer.

No rough edging and great detailing on the cabinets. It would seem very difficult to get perfectly accurate color representation of these monitors using artificial light.

The Guru3D review system is Cherry Satin, producing a very modern look and allowing this system to blend well with existing furnishings in your living room or PC room. Let's take a look at the binding posts, admittedly an area usually neglected in a budget system.

This style is very versatile, allowing you to use generic speaker wire, cables with lugs or cables with banana jacks. The binding posts have removable covers that snap into the openings for the banana jacks. Not a big deal, but fine points such as this let you know you're dealing with products whose designers paid attention to detail.

We should also note, there are mounting holes for connecting speaker stands from the bottom and holes in the rear of the cabinet for connection to drop mounts from the ceiling. There are also full tower speakers and a center channel in this series for those with larger needs.

So far these monitors are looking good, but what about their sound? Let's have a look at the technical side of the design first and see if we can get an idea of balance this audio monitoring system will have.

ELT  525 M Frequency Response Graph

Overall based on this graph, the ELT  525M's seem to be very balanced across the measured frequency range which is 200 -20Khz. There are little peaks and valleys but nothing to really worry about and making an educated guess based on this graph they will sound sonically balanced.
We know you're excited to get some listening impressions but we have some other details to discuss first. We can't wait to fire up this system either!

We added this waterfall graph to better illustrate the frequency response on these monitors. To note: based on the newer speakers and in the interest of giving our readers great reviews we will be adding out own measurement system comprised of a measurement grade microphone, high quality pre-amp and measurement software. Look for our new measurement regimen in our upcoming speaker and audio reviews!
We received a full system for review so let's see what other toys we have to play with today.

Many PC audio lovers have their system connected to high quality home theater systems or high grade Bookshelf speakers for stereo audition. It would seem that more and more PC users are moving up the audio ladder to these high end systems. AV123 sent us a complete stereo monitoring system comprised of their ELT 525 Mini-Monitors in a Cherry Finish, a Class-D speaker amplifier from Tweak City Audio and last but not least some Matrix-2 speaker cables from Ultra Link to tie the system together.
