From the initial look, there are many designs similarities between generation 1 and generation 2.  We also see a few tech differences which we will look at closer.

It is nice to see Auzentech stuck to the swappable opamps, this feature was highly anticipated on the original XM and we think will be highly popular on this model also.  We will note that Auzentech used higher quality caps on this card for both the opamps and beefier caps for the power clean up circuitry.  We see the generic 5532, this opamps are found in a great deal of audio gear.  No doubt Auzentech choose them to give the card a decent stock signature, while keeping the MSRP down as they will undoubtedly be changed by the end user.

We see an improved I/O section from the original design and the popular S/Pdif digital combo jacks allowing the user to use either coax or optical cables for digital I/O.  We will note that the S/Pdif I/O section allows look back which can be very handy.

Lets have a look at the rear internal I/O section.

This section look rather similar to the original XM, however this model features a dedicated headphone amplifier chip feeding the front panel headphone output.  This allows the end user to use higher quality headphones.

Well audio fans that is all we have for you right now, just a quick sneak peak to whet your appetite.  With a slated release date of August, those interested will not have to wait long.

Stay tuned for the full review, until next time this is Robscix in the Guru3D Audio Lab signing off.
