Auzentech Cappuccino EX Sneak Peek

The audio market is constantly expanding and evolving with new products for the internal and external market places.  We always do what we can to bring our readers the latest and greatest information on upcoming audio products for their audio systems.  So without further delays, lets get to the good stuff shall we?

Today, from the Guru3D Audio Lab we have our latest exclusive sneak peek of the Auzentech Cappuccino EX external USB 2.0 audio interface.

Please understand these are pictures of an early prototype so features may be added and specifications are subject to change.  The information here is of the working design and specifications for Auzentech’s latest audio device.

Based on the received information, the device sports some impressive specifications, offering a high end 24/192 KHz Digital to Analog Converter with a 123dB Dynamic range and a THD of 0.0005%.

Let’s take a peek at the great looks of this upcoming external audio device:

Here we can see the .25”/6.3mm headphone output that can support headphones up to 600Ω impedance using reported premium grade headphone amplification circuitry.

On the opposite end of the Cappuccino EX we have the switchable RCA line level inputs/outputs, Optical/microphone input and the USB connection.  The S/Pdif input accepts audio streams up to 24/96 KHz.

This Capo EX supports USB Audio Class 2.0 and high speed mode in Win XP, Vista and Win7.  The device also has Mac support for OS X 10.5.7 and later.  Let’s check out the controls and indicators:

The working design features touch controls for master volume level on the left.  We have function indicators for source, mode and sound on the right.  There is also a built in microphone for those that need it and a microphone input for those users that require a higher quality input.

There is no fixed MSRP yet, but there is some talk on the $249.99 price point.  As for the release date, Auzentech is targeting early to mid December,  hopefully before Christmas of this year.

We know what you are thinking, what output options are supported?  This device offers:  Direct Sound, WDM, ASIO 2.0, WASAPI and Core Audio Support.

To answer some other typical questions for such devices, this unit can operate in three different modes

  • 1. USB PC Sync
  • 2. Hi-Fi DAC
  • 3. Headphone Amplifier

For those that are wondering about sampling rate conversion, this device is capable of bit perfect/auto-sample rate adjustment; asynchronous resampling or the device operates as a headphone amplifier.  This device also has its own proprietary USB driver.
