NAS Storage Performance Benchmarks

Ethernet performance

The performance measurement screenshots that we are about to show you cover like 80% of the unit capabilities and possibilities. Let's have a look at its performance. For this NAS we'll test with a single SSD as that maxes out the ethernet connection.

Sequential perf is the leading metric here, 4K Que depth 1 and 1 thread is your worst-case scenario with thousands of small files and no queue to deal with them. As you can see the sequential read and write performance is very impressive at 2.5 Gbps. The NAS is at work at a 2500 Mbit/s connection. Performance is very good in the sub 280~290 MB/sec realm.

Writes again, here we see something very interesting. The results are excellent for 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, 1 Gbps GigE starts to pale away in the shadow of multi GigE performance. BTW if you wonder why 10 Gbps on that AS4004T is so limited, as explained in that review the processor was not capable enough for RAID5. This is not the case with today's tested product as the quad-core proc from Intel is more than sufficient.
