One more photo I'd like to show you on storage, the HDD trays can be used to install 2.5" SSDs as well. Just place it on the aligned holes and you can mount it secure with screws.  With the ongoing price drops and QLC NAND, if you like to use SSDs. All pretty plain and simple stuff really.

So again, M.2 units without a heatsink will fit fine, however with a heatsink surrounding the SSD, you'll bump into spacing issues. Let me show you that.

See how the heatsink wraps around the M.2. SSD? That makes it fall outside its form factor, unfortunately, a lot of manufacturers apply this as a cooling solution. In such a scenario you can only fir two NVMe M.2. SSDs.

As you can see port 2 is connected to the 10 GigE infrastructure (purple), the NAS locks in at 2.5 Gbps (lighter purple-ish color). Always keep in mind that you need a 5 or 10 GigE switch as well in your infrastructure, also on the client-side (PCs) you'd need compatible ethernet adapters.

I think we're ready to go. Let's start up the software installation of ADM, after which we configure the NAS for all the needs and requirements you wish for.
