The Z170 chipset will bring six native Intel chipset based SATA 6 Gb/s storage ports to the motherboard. SATA Express is supported. Included is a M.2. PCI Express slot (hidden under the cover - no worries - we'll show you) , is has a proper PCI Express lane x4 link, giving the port 32 GB/sec performance. There are many USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports available through internal connectors motherboard connectors.

You will get four DIMM slots offer support for dual-channel DDR4 memory freak-on' up to even 3766 MHz (OC). If you activate the XMP 2.0 profile in the BIOS, your memory will be automatically configured for you at its maximum clock speed and recommended voltage.
Right below the memory you can see two buttons:

It is a bit hard to spot but these are reset and power buttons as well as a diagnostic POST LED above it. Very handy, and I like the subtle integration of this.

You can install a maximum of 64 GB in total. Again, DDR4 XMP 2.0 is supported, we'll show you this petite setup running at 2133 and 3200 MHz. The board has nice dark capacitors, and overall high quality components throughout the board design. The shielding of course is what makes this board look very sexy, well that and the RGB lighting system.

Overall a terrific design really, aesthetically pleasing to the eyes as well. The PCH (Intel Z170 chipset) chip is covered by a nice heatsink, shield almost, once activated a customizable RGB LED will create an aura of light from that heat-sink. It looks pretty nice, I'll show you that on a separate page of course. We already discussed th PCIe ports, so movin' on folks.

The board has buttons for reset / power and a number of micro-switches for the standard features like memOK! etc. When we flip it around we again see a huge back-plate, great to protect your PCB. I like the design a lot as well as there's plenty room for ventilation.
