NVIDIA has launched its newest graphics card, the affordable GeForce RTX 4070 (12GB), designed to offer remarkable performance for gamers and creatives seeking an upgrade. Incorporating features such as ray tracing, DLSS, and AI-driven assists, this graphics card is set to attract a broad range of users in search of a potent yet cost-effective solution. Based on the same AD104 silicon as the RTX 4070 Ti, it has 46 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors enabled, yielding 5,888 CUDA cores, as opposed to the 7,680 on the Ti. Additionally, it possesses 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 184 TMUs, and potentially 64 ROPs. Despite a more narrow memory bus, the RTX 4070 includes 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory over a 192-bit wide memory interface, supplying 504GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Weighing just 1000 grams, the card exhibits a lightweight design by current standards. Measuring roughly 27 centimeters in length, the compact dual-slot structure ensures a seamless fit within your device. An open backplate design on both sides complements its distinct aesthetic, which has been consistent in their products for the past year. Moreover, a vented backplate promotes better airflow. As NVIDIA prepares to phase out the Ampere series, the ADA lineup emerges as a faster, competitively-priced alternative. The GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition, equipped with 5888 shading cores, outperforms both its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, and often the 3080.

While complying with PCIe Gen 5 standards, the GeForce RTX 4000 series continues to support a PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 host interface. The GeForce RTX 4070 is furnished with 12GB of GDDR6X memory and a 192-bit wide memory bus. A minimum 500W power supply is recommended for its 200W TGP, but usually consumes only 150-200W. The card's power consumption may rise due to the extra TGP allowance granted to board partners.

With a carefully designed aluminum backplate and metal anti-bending plate, the card exhibits minimal sag. The cooling system enables ASUS to increase frequencies without sacrificing temperature stability. The design has a near three-slot configuration. This latest GPU from ASUS incorporates an expanded I/O shield that accommodates three DisplayPort 1.4 ports and a single HDMI 2.1 port.
