At the backside the monitor has a handy 5-way joystick for navigation providing relatively quick access to OSD settings, allowing users to switch display parameters with a flick of a finger including multiple color adjustments. A lot can be tweaked to your preference. We'll show you some screenshots of the OSD later on in the article.

The PG348Q has an HDMI 1.4 port, DisplayPort 1.2, an audio jack and a USB 3.0 hub with four ports you can use, granted not the most ideal position for USB connectivity eh? For 100 Hz and/or 3440x1440 we'd recommend DisplayPort anyway due to the high bandwidth requirements. We'd like to see ASUS move to more connectors though, say one HDMI for a monitor and one for a cable box receiver or your smartphone or something, it is all a little basic for a monitor in this price range.

The power adapter is not built into the monitor, so unfortunately you get an external one. Anno 2016 this does not have my preference.

After we dim the room a little we turn on the monitor. You can now more clearly see the ROG LED projection at the bottom, a little gimmicky I agree... but I like that. You get options to en/disable it. IPS is great - you can sit straight in front of it or even move further to one side as angled views remain good, and yeah, this certainly is a pretty good screen to look at alright.

And another issue that you do not have over TN, you can move your head up/down/left/right and you will see a wide view-port without too much distortion. All good! We'll look at some more viewing angles later in the article.
