ASUS ROG STRIX B360-F Gaming review -
Product Showcase
When we place the motherboard at an angle we see the rather familiar socket LGA1151 and can count its power phases. It will support Coffee Lake procs, these are referred to as the 8th generation Core series processors. The board has an 8-pin power header for the processor.
Storage ports then -- ASUS is equipping the board with six SATA3 ports. There's no fuzz anymore with U.2 or SATA Express connectors (yay!). Btw that shielding and the design elements, again, this is a value, maybe even budget oriented motherboard, that just looks great eh?
Here we see that a bit better. Just a proper six SATA3 6Gbps ports, here another completely funky design choice, no more stacked connectors, single connectors. Again, I really dig that in terms of aesthetics!
There are two M.2 SSD slots available, two type 2242/2260/2280, one full x4 PCIe and one 8cm type 2260/2280 at x2 PCIe lane speeds. So one is delivering up to 32 Gb/s data transfer speed per connector. It's the difference between a theoretical 3500 MB/sec and roughly 1500 MB/sec.
As mentioned on the previous page, the board supports single, dual channel with support up-to DDR4 2667 and starts at 2133 MHz memory modules. 4 x DDR4 DIMM sockets can sport up-to 64 GB of system memory.
The Asus ROG Azoth keyboard is the one we’re reviewing today. The last one from Asus ROG I had my hands on was the Claymore II (in 2021, a wireless 100% keyboard that earned a “Recommended” award). This time it’s the 75% form factor wireless keyboard initially shown at the CES 2023. What we’ll find interesting about this product? It’s not using the Cherry MX switches. Still, the custom-made ASUS ROG ROG NX (hot-swappable, pre-lubricated) switches are offered here, aimed at gamers and professionals.
