The Asus ROG Rapture GT6 offers several features found in other Asus mesh routers, such as the ZenWiFi Pro XT12. However, unlike other mesh routers that try to blend in with their surroundings, the GT6 stands out with its unique appearance. Whether this is desirable or not depends on personal preference. However, the GT6's performance is undeniable. It delivers very fast download speeds, as you'll find out over the next few pages.

The GT6 has four Ethernet ports, including one 2.5Gbps port and the ability to combine two 1Gbps ports to obtain 2Gbps in wired speeds for a NAS or desktop PC. The USB 3.2 port, a feature not usually seen in mainstream mesh routers, is also present in the GT6.

The ROG Rapture GT6 features nine internal antennas with ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology, providing up to 5800 square feet of coverage. The focus on wired connectivity is also evident, as users can enjoy up to 2.5 times faster-wired connectivity with the 2.5Gbps WAN port and LAN aggregation.

WPA3 password encryption is available, and users can enable 160 MHz channels on the 5 GHz bands, although these features must be configured during the setup process of the mesh Wi-Fi system and are not enabled by default. Missing, however, is the new 6 GHz band, which we find unfortunate.

Fortunately, setting up the GT6 is straightforward, as users can select one of the units as the primary router, while the other automatically acts as the satellite unit. Both units come pre-synced and are members of Asus' AiMesh ecosystem. Alternatively, each unit can function as a standalone router, suitable for homes where a single router is sufficient for wireless connectivity. It features a distinctive RGB logo called the "Aura RGB logo", along with slashed vents and the ROG slogan "For Those Who Dare" etched on one side. It also has top and bottom air vents that align with the heatsinks for optimal convection and heat dissipation.

The GT6's excellent performance is priced at approximately $525 for a two-pack and $300 for a single unit, which is comparable to other high-end mesh routers.
