At the lower edge of the board we see the headers, front panel connectors and functional buttons, etc. Also, a Molex is present, you can feed some extra amperage into the PCIe slots this way. Remember, this board is designed for tweaking and overclocking.

The motherboard boasts an LED system in combination with their SYNC App, programmable and addressable RGB strips are now supported as well. We'll show you a good number of photos on that in this article as well of course.

So here we can spot the PCI-Express slots a bit better. These are configured as:

  • 44-Lane CPU
    • 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8)
    • 2 x PCIe 3.0 x4 (max at x4 mode)
  • 28-Lane CPU
    • 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 ( x16, x16/x8, x16/x8/x4)
    • 2 x PCIe 3.0 x4 (max at x4 mode)
  • 16-Lane CPU
    • 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x8/x8, x8/x8/x1)
    • 2 x PCIe 3.0 x4 (max at x4 mode)

Again, your choice in processor will define how many PCI-Express lanes you'll get, currently only the Core i9 7900 will support a full 44 lane configuration. There is one 1 x PCIe 3.0 x4 slot as well.
