ASUS outs this board in an ETAX form factor, it holds the new 'Infinity Lighting' 'holographic' accents on top of the aluminum ROG Armor. The Encore retains a strong focus on power delivery. Here, sixteen TDA21472 power stages are teamed across 8–phases. The phase power delivery all tucked away under heat sinks connected to heat pipes that are cooled by two fans. You'll spot a small OLED display that brings you post status updates as well as CPU temperatures. It holds eight DIMM slots allowing up-to a massive 256GB of DDR4 memory. You get eight SATA3 ports, two M2 slots and an extra dimm.2 slot, on which an AIC (included) with two m.2 drives can be placed, enabling nvme raid arrays is possible yet with Intel VROC -technology. USB also has been upgraded as you'll spot A USB 3.2 gen 2x2 header (20 Gbit/s). The Aquantia 10 Gbit/s network chip is exquisite and in addition to the standard Intel Gigabit network chip. Also present is an Intel AX2000 WiFi 6 adapter (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax module supporting 2.4/5 GHz Dual-Band as well as Bluetooth 5.0). The sound is provided by a Realtek ALC 1220 codec, with DTS Sound Unbound and a dedicated headphone amplifier.
