Overclocking

Overclocking Performance

Overclocking then - our findings in short, our ES sample is a pretty nice overclocker but a bit of a pig when it comes to temps, it allows 4800 MHz on all four cores and that's it. And that is the thing, even with this 625 euro costing motherboard, the CPU defines my maximum overclocking performance, and not the motherboard and cooling. So you can achieve similar results with a 150 euro costing motherboard and a cheapo LCS kit as well. And that is the honest brutal truth.

The same settings as used in the previous benchmarks have been used here as well. The overclock entails nothing more than increasing the multiplier and CPU voltage. BTW I overclocked using a 3.0 GHz CL15 memory kit, there was no particular weird reason for this but I simply needed the 3600 MHz kit for an AMD Ryzen test.
