The overall quality is excellent, and the plastic is rigid. The top and the main buttons are finished with a matte surface.
There are PTFE (pure Teflon) sliders at the bottom, which have rounded edges. You can find the replacement pieces in the box; that’s very nice of Asus. You can see a switch that toggles the Gladius III mode in the Wireless version: Bluetooth, connected, and 2.4Ghz wireless.
Underneath the Wireless version is the pairing button. The lower part is the profile button and a dedicated slot for storing the 2.4GHz dongle inside the body. It’s magnetized, so you don’t have to worry about losing the receiver. On the bottom of the mouse, two rubber caps give access to the inside of the mouse. You do need to remove two Phillips screws to gain access. Power on, then.
Both main and side buttons are excellent. The first ones (the default are the ROG type) can be replaced with Omron D2F Series or Omron D2FC Series. You can also install 5-pin Omron optical switch series (Omron D2FP-FN), a set of which is included in the box. This is due to the second-generation push-fit sockets, which are mechanically and electrically compatible with the mentioned type.
On the top of the mouse, you can find two buttons. One of them is used for cycling through the set CPI steps, and below it is a button for cycling through the saved profiles. The scroll wheel is good, quiet, with excellent tactility.
Overall, three RGB zones (Logo/Scroll Wheel/Side) can be controlled in Armoury Crate software. There are six buttons in total. The buttons are sensitive and provide excellent feedback. The mouse makes a charming overall impression, and the sensor can go up to 19,000 DPI or even 26,000 DPI (but it’s not a number you’ll need for daily usage).
