Memory Read test

So for memory we had some good stuff to work with, Intel has a couple of certified partners for memory to get some sweet XMP profiles going. One of them is G.Skill with their newly revised memory, their 3rd reincarnation of their DDR3 memory modules.

Obviously we also had to peek at memory bandwidth performance. GSKILL submitted some of their new Trident X Dual-channel sticks at 2666MHz (C11). Once you start to overclock the performance rises even more. In fact we have already show you that in the overclock chapter, we near 25K MB/sec there.

Memory Write test

We did the same with the memory write tests.

Flyin' numbers at 2666 MHz! remember, this is dual-channel performance. Crazy stuff. Slightly different numbers as we forgot to make the screenshot, so the 2nd run was slightly off. Still you get the idea.

This is the memory used, it had heat spreaders on it but we removed them as the CPU cooler would get in the way. Remember that, if you use heatpipe coolers the memory being double height will probably not fit (depending on your cooler model).

Sandra Memory Index

Here we make use of the Sandra Memory performance test, it gives us an index score of overall memory performance. The Trident X Dual-channel sticks at 2666MHz really kick in hard and closes in on quad-channel performance.
