NVIDIA Releases Affordable GeForce RTX 4070 (12GB) Graphics Card with Impressive Performance Capabilities NVIDIA has finally released its latest graphics card, the GeForce RTX 4070, which promises to deliver high performance for users who want to upgrade their gaming and creative experiences. With features like ray tracing, DLSS, and AI-powered assists, this graphics card is sure to appeal to a wide range of users looking for a powerful and affordable solution. The card uses the same AD104 silicon as the RTX 4070 Ti, with just 46 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors enabled, resulting in 5,888 CUDA cores, compared to the 7,680 on the Ti. It also has 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 184 TMUs, and possibly 64 ROPs. Despite a narrower memory bus, the RTX 4070 features 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface, providing 504GB/s of memory bandwidth, which is even higher than its Ti counterpart.

Weighing in at a mere 1100 grams, this card boasts a lightweight design for today's standards. With dimensions of approximately 30 centimeters in length, the compact dual-slot construction ensures a perfect fit in your device. The card's open backplate design on both sides enhances its signature aesthetic, present in their products over the past year. Furthermore, a vented backplate offers improved air circulation. As NVIDIA plans to retire the Ampere series, the ADA lineup emerges as its successor, providing faster and competitively priced cards. The GeForce RTX 4070 Founder Edition, with its 5888 shading cores, outperforms its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and often 3080.

A distinctive feature of the RTX 40-series graphics cards is that NVIDIA exclusively supplies the included power adapters, whether for Founders Edition or custom-designed boards by partners. The card opts for the old-fashioned 8-pin connector.

Although adhering to PCIe Gen 5 specifications, the GeForce RTX 4000 series maintains a PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 host interface. The GeForce RTX 4070 is outfitted with 12GB of GDDR6X memory and a 192-bit wide memory bus. While a minimum 500W power supply is advised for its 200W TGP, the Founder Edition card typically consumes only 150-200W. However, the card's wattage may increase due to the additional TGP allowance granted to board partners.

Its size necessitates an advanced cooling system that makes use of high-quality materials. The RGB lighting on this model is discreet, appearing solely as an accent in the top right corner, illuminating the TUF logo. With a meticulously crafted aluminum backplate and metal anti-bending plate, the card experiences minimal sag. The cooling system allows ASUS to push the frequencies without compromising on temperature stability. The design extends from a three-slot to a 3.5-slot structure. This latest GPU from ASUS  features an enlarged I/O shield, housing three DisplayPort 1.4 ports and a single HDMI 2.1 port.
