ASUS CineVibe Rumble Feedback USB Gaming Headset review - Page 8 -- Conclusion

Final words and verdict

One thing I always ask myself is why would someone gravitate towards an audio product like this?  Well, by reading reviews like these, of course, but maybe because you’ve worn out your current headset, or just looking for something a little bit better.  The CineVibe have one attribute that warrants your attention and closer look.  For a closed back, sound isolating headset they introduce minimal coloration into the sound.  Say what?  This is actually a pretty big deal, one that I have heard $4000 headphones (Sony MDR-R10) do, and these don’t.  Nice work Asus!  Are they spectacular?  Not really.  Just honest.

The ASUS CineVibe is an all-in-one headset.  However, with discreet sound cards and driver you do get more features and quality, but of course that solution is nowhere near as simple.  We like simple.  I am a two headphone user, one for audio/video and another for games and chat.  Often times I’ll start a game and realize I don’t have a microphone, all the while talking to myself.  The CineVibe aims to end all that, just keep one pair of headphones for all things, and you have the mic when you need it.

While the rumble feedback is interesting in itself, the sound quality of the CineVibe is the real feature here.  Games are great on it, yet it has decent enough quality to be used for music listening, which is quite a surprise.

Obviously, those looking for something more audiophile with an integrated microphone will still be searching, but the CineVibe won’t let you down too much.  Our personal preference is to favor an over-the-ear headphone with a separate microphone, based on comfort reasons.

Stuff that is always at the End

Special thanks to ASUS Taiwan for sending us a sample, to Hilbert who lets me test, test, and test some more before publishing.  I'd also like to thank my kitchen sink for introducing me to my attachments and delusions therewhithin.  Muchos gracias.

The ASUS CineVibe Rumble Feedback USB Gaming Headset are a mid-price headset that are actually pretty good and well worth the money. You can buy better headphones for more money, but that costs, well, more money. And these certainly have a lot of bass, so if you\'re into a lot of thump, the ASUS CineVibe will satisfy.
