The ASRock Z690 Steel Legend is distinguished by its black and white camo style, which is complemented by white and silver heatsinks. It also contains an I/O shield, which has already been installed on the board.
This board offers 13 phases of 50A-stages, plenty for what the CPU needs really. The network chip on this board is a Realtek Dragon 2.5 Gbps network chip, rather than the Killer Ethernet chip that is seen on other boards.
Inside the packaging, we find many accessories, including SATA cables, stickers. The CPU is supplied with electricity through two 8pin 12V inputs that are tucked away in the corner of the mobo. In addition, you can see the thick heatpipe that connects the IO-sided power phases to the ones on the side of the printed circuit board. The board is equipped with two monitor outputs, one of which is a DP 1.4 output and the other of which is an HDMI 2.1 connection.
With the exception of a few minor abnormalities, it's impossible to find anything wrong with this board, especially considering its $250 price tag. It is also possible to purchase a model with WiFi 6E for $270, which appears to be a decent price when considering that the WiFi module and antenna are included.
