ASRock offers its Taichi Z490 with 12 CPU phases and then 2+1 (thus 15 phases) with CPU MOSFETs at 50A DrMOS, Intersil ISL69269 PWM controlled, these are cooled by a set of aluminum heat sinks. In a nutshell, that's a powerful VRM ranging in an high-end -class. There are two ATX CPU power inputs (8-pin). The board offers an Intel 2.5 G Ethernet (Dragon RTL8125BG) controller and other Gigabit jack (Intel I219V) and then AX Wi-Fi 6. The board offers three PCIe 3.0 slots which run at x16, x8/x8, x8/x8/4 and 2x PCIe 3.0 x1. Storage-wise you will see hidden under a heatsink a triplet of PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 slots. There are six SATA ports (RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 array support) from the chipset, and then two additional ports from an ASMedia ASM1061 controller. The onboard audio based on Realtek ALC1220 HD audio codec. On the rear panel you'll spot one USB 3.2 G2 20 Gbps Type-C, two USB 3.2 G2 10 Gbps Type-A, and five USB 3.2 G1 Type-A ports. This board offers DDR4 support up-to 4666 MHz. Have a peek at some photos, albeit subjective, I deem this to be a really nice looking product.
