ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate review -
Product Showcase
The Z390 motherboard will get you eight SATA 6 Gb/s storage ports. Combined in here is are M.2 PCI Express slots using x4 PCIe lanes, thus 32 GB/sec of performance. There are plenty of and 3.1 ports available through internal motherboard connectors including USB 3.1 Gen 2 would be the fastest 10 Gbps connectors.
Here we can see the four DIMM slots which offer support for dual-channel DDR4 memory up to an advertised 4200+ MHz (OC). We recommend a 2667 MHz kit or faster. Most if not all motherboard partners offer 'XMP' support.
The Realtek ALC 1220 codec is housed for your audio and is enhanced by Nichicon Fine Gold Series Audio Caps and NE5532 headphone amp. The overall looks are really nice, look at the heatsink gear design. The VRM area is totally covered as well.
To your right of the CPU socket and below the chipset heatsink, you can see the M.2 slots. NVMe M.2 SSDs are really fast on this platform as our results will show. Just one of them is shielded though, again this looks really sweet plus it is actually functional for SSD cooling.
ASRock delivers a Mini ITX Z690 motherboard at around 300 USD. It's loaded with premium features and is DDR5 compatible. Armed with two M.2 slots and a plethora of speedy USB ports on the board, as...

Meet the Asrock Z690 Taichi motherboard. This product is from a series that already appeared using the Z590 chipset, which we’ve reviewed not long ago. When looking at the overall specs, the Asrock Z690 Taichi isn’t much different from the predecessor, which would explain such a price difference.
ASRock Z690 Steel Legend (DDR4) review
MSI has returned with a motherboard that is completely black, it does not apply RGB. And that's something we appreciate. This Z690 Alder Lake-ready motherboard features five M2 slots, WIFI6e, and a p...
ASRock Z590 Taichi review
Meet the Asrock Z590 Taichi motherboard. This product from the already well-known series (Taichi means Chinese martial art) focuses on bringing many features at a reasonable price. Well, it was like that till now. Why’s that? There’s about a 30 USD premium over the predecessor, the Asrock Z490 Taichi, an improved appearance, and a great-looking moving gear feature. This board targets the upper mid-tier/high-end range of the market (with a price of 459.99 USD).
