The board is based on a ten-power phase design and cooled by a big aluminium heat sink (but the top VRM doesn’t have it. The motherboard has one 2.5 Gb Ethernet jack courtesy of Killer E3100G and no wireless LAN. For storage, ASRock includes one PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot, one PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2/SATA slots, and six SATA ports. The ASRock B550 PG Riptidei includes three full-length PCIe slots; one has ASRock Steel Armor protection, with the top one operating at PCIe 4.0 x16 and the other two at PCIe 3.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x1. There’s also a single PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. There are four memory banks with support for up to 128 Gb of DDR4-4933. Strangely, the I/O shield is not integrated.

The rear panel includes a USB 3.2 G2 Type-C, one USB 3.2 G2 Type-A, six USB 3.2 G1 Type-A, and two USB 2.0 ports. Finishing off the rear panel is a PS/2 keyboard and mouse combo port. Powering the single RJ45 port is a Killer E3100G 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller, while a Realtek ALC897audio codec controls the board’s three 3.5 mm audio jacks. Asrock has included only one video output – HDMI, which gives users options to consider pairing this board with a Ryzen APU.

The onboard audio is based on the Realtek ALC897 HD audio codec. Some of the features:
