Page 3 - Measurement Selection

First off, the section which you'll use the most, Select Measurement.

This section is basically what you use to startup the benchmark of your choice and can be handled at three levels. The first is AquaMark Score measurement. The default benchmark that everyone can use. Basically this will test your graphics card at a resolution of 10x7 (1024x768 pixels) in 32bit color mode. Anti Aliasing (AA) is disabled and 4x Anisotropic Filtering (AF) is enabled. Personally I never use AA and always have 8 levels of Anisotropic Filtering enabled in my games. So you can see I'm very happy with massive's default choice. Once done, the benchmark will show you the TRIMARK score and also the option to submit your results to Massive's ARC,

the AquaMark Result Comparator. More on that one later.

Option two, is advanced Measurement. You'll need a Pro license for this. For those who do not want to chip in the 10 Bucks, I took an image for you ;)

As you can see the second choice is something a lot of webmasters like very much and probably a lot of enthusiast readers also. It's a batch mode, as everything is configurable from Color Depth, to all available resolutions, to AA, to AF, and even LOD (Level of Detail). Excellent, why ? -> See that test all function ? You can batch everything. If I opted 4xAA and 8xAF and then flag resolution it will automatically benchmark all available resolutions with my preferred options and features. It's a time-saver.

Let's go back to the Measurement selection page and go to option 3, Custom Settings Measurement. I did not take a screenshot. Why you ask ? Because there's no menu for it ;) The benchmark starts immediately with the settings you can define in the options menu. Pretty interesting as you would be able to enable sound here and see how much performance your soundcard utilizes and how much it effects the framerate. Or you can customize the settings towards your preference with hyper-threading disabled and enabled. Notice the flexibility here ? One downside for the non-paying users. You'll need a Professional license to be able to use this feature.

This concludes the Select Measurement page.
