A heat spreader does not always bring the temperature down. Rather than that, it moves the heat from the chips to the PCB, distributing it more evenly throughout the entire module, and eliminating potential hot-spots. Theoretically, this should allow better overclocking. Panther Rage RGB memory is a low profile kit  (43 mm).  There shouldn’t be an issue with most (air and liquid) coolers. The RGB strip is powered and controlled via DIMM slots, and no additional power needs to be provided (unlike in some Geil RAM kits). When powered up, the lighting is bright and clear. The backlight is even. You can choose one of a variety of colours, but you can also set some stunning transitions and fade effects in the Asus Aura Sync utility.
