Conclusion
Guru3D.comFirst off, let me start this conclusion with some more confusion (I love that line), it's likely that in the stores you'll also find a product under the GeForce FX 5900 SE name. Not from AOpen, but from others. SE and XT models are as far as I can track 100% the same. I think is was a rather dubious decision at NVIDIA to use the XT brand for obvious reasons. Anyway enough of that.

What a nice card to own people! We see a decent enough potential in overclocking on this card that brings it close towards GeForce FX 5900 Ultra in some cases. In fact it closes in on the default clocked 5950 Ultra so that makes up for a lot, I guess. The product is equipped with memory that can handle a tad more than it's default specification, that's additional value. So it's like this, if you do not want or simply can't spend a huge amount of money on a high-end graphics cards and can settle for a little less, then we definitely recommend the product, it's very stable and for the money it offers heaps of functionality, features and really nice performance. You can basically play any game to date without any issue at all.

If I had to choose between a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra or this card I'd opt this one without hesitation, quite weird for a product with almost the same price tag.

What to say about the Aeolus 5900 XT .. three words. Value, value, value. If you were in the market for an FX 5700 Ultra, then forget about it. Spend 20 bucks more as this product justifies that price easily. The 4 pixel pipelines with 2 TMUs per pipe and and 256-bit memory interface compared to the GeForce FX 5700 Ultra in the same price class moves this product into the lower region of the high-end cards and it's price is extremely competitive. What the GeForce 4 Ti4200 was compared to the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 is this product, pure value versus really good performance. You know what's so funny in October 2002 the GeForce 4 ti 4200 had the exact same price tag as this product.

Two thumbs up and highly recommended. Thanks go out to AOpen for providing this sample.

The product we will review today is the new NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 XT. I say new because it's fresh in the Quarter 4 lineup from NVIDIA. BTW NVIDIA, copycatting is not really a nice thing, the XT obviously has been chosen to compete with the Radeon 9x00 XT series of graphics cards.
