Load testing the PSU with multiple GPUs

Well, we do have multiple GeForce GTX 590 cards at our disposal, why not put some serious load on the PSU and enable four GPUs ?

Since this is a kilowatt PSU we could not leave you guys hanging dry. We in fact installed a second GeForce GTX 590 to see the power draw. You'll notice that four GPUs will stress the power supply more, but we'd have no hesitation if 6 GPUs would be supported as well as we peak at 7269 Watt, less then expected and that's all about the product efficiency.

If you reverse calculate, a standard 80 Plus certified PSU would consume over 800 Watt here.

This is merely a demonstration test that shows the total wattage in the different tested modes. With four GPUs during gaming we peak to a blistering 726W, but as explained that could have been much worse with a low efficiency power supply.

Interesting is that under this load the PSU did not get warm and even after a couple of minutes of gameplay the fan RPM remains rather low. We had the PSU outside a chassis in this stage though.
