Graphics (VGA) performance Recording Level and IQ settings

Before we begin with the graphics performance tests a little explanation. We use a time based measurement, since we can not record a time demo. In the level below we play the game for roughly one minute and follow a set/repeated path.

For all our graphics performance tests we apply the internal AA mode and have enabled Very high quality mode. DX11 is activated.

The nineteen graphics cards used are:

  • GeForce GTS 450
  • GeForce GTX 460
  • GeForce GTX 560 Ti
  • GeForce GTX 570
  • GeForce GTX 580
  • GeForce GTX 590
  • GeForce GTX 480
  • GeForce GTX 550 Ti
  • Radeon HD 5830
  • Radeon HD 5850
  • Radeon HD 5870
  • Radeon HD 5970
  • Radeon HD 6790
  • Radeon HD 6850
  • Radeon HD 6870
  • Radeon HD 6950
  • Radeon HD 6970
  • Radeon HD 6990
  • Radeon HD 7970

Each card runs on the same PC with the same operating system clone. GeForce cards use the latest 285.62 WHQL driver and for AMD Radeon graphics cards we used the latest December 2012 WHQL driver  with the latest available CAP for multi-GPU support.

Our test setup is based on Intel X58 (MSI Big bang XPower) with 6 GB of DDR3 ( Corsair 1600 MHz) memory. The processor is a Core i7 965 clocked at 3750 MHz.

Let's head onwards to the next page where we'll look at the 1280x768 and 1600x1200 resolution performance first.

Anno 2070 VGA Graphics performance review
The popular Anno series has been ongoing for many years now always based on history. The franchise decided to jump to the future, 58 years ahead of time. For Anno 2070 the graphics engine has been updated, the game is now DirectX 11 compatible. And as such it is time to throw a couple of graphics cards (well we can't say that nineteen graphics cards are a couple really) at it to see how well the game performs with DX11 cards Anno 2012.
