Anno 1800 Open Beta (April 2019) for PC benchmarked
PC graphics performance/analysis review for Windows 10 PC

Build faster - build stronger, yes the Anno series is back! If you load up Uplay or the Epic game launch at this very moment (this weekend) you can load up a free trial and test out Anno 1800. We took it for a spin, the game is among the hardest games to measure because if your city and inhabitant numbers increase it will have an effect on your CPU and framerate. So the bigger your cities get, the more taxing the game will be on its performance. Anno 1800 is looking to be something very promising, the game has had a nice graphics overhaul with DX11 and DX12 support alongside a nice set of image quality options.

We start today with an early preview of Anno 1800, for the public beta we feel the game is 98% finished, with perhaps a few small changes upcoming week at launch. NVIDIA already released a compatible and optimized Anno 1800 driver, which really shows in perf. AMD has not issued an optimized driver just yet, and unfortunately, we have to immediately say that shows as well, the Radeon is not doing well at this time with the current 19.4.1 compared to what NVIDIA is pushing performance wise. This, however, is a preview, we have no doubt that AMD will get an up-to-snuff driver increasing performance, and obviously, we'll update again with the final game.

We take a look at Anno 1800 our usual in-depth ways. That would be tested on the PC gaming wise relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and benchmarked. We have a look at performance with the newest graphics cards and technologies. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and benchmarked with the latest cards such as the GeForce GTX 10 and RTX 20 series included as well as the latest Radeon RX series 500, Vega and VII graphics cards. You are going to need a reasonably modern PC with at least a mainstream graphics card to run the game nicely. We test with the game based on the final release for PC / Windows from this week, all patched up combined with latest AMD Radeon Adrenalin and Nvidia GeForce drivers.

This article will cover benchmarks in the sense of average framerates, we'll look at all popular resolutions scaling from Full HD (1920x1080/1200), WQHD (2560x1440) and of course Ultra HD. UHDTV (2160p) is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels tall (8.29 megapixels), which is four times as many pixels as 1920x1080 (2.07 megapixels). We'll test close to 25 graphics cards with this game.

We test with the game based on the day-1 release all patched up combined with AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 19.4.1 driver (download) and for Nvidia their GeForce 425.31 WHQL driver. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers.
