We got our hands on the highest-end SKU of the Asus ROG Scar 17, which is equipped with the dragon range 55W Ryzen 9 7945HX CPU and a 175 W GeForce RTX 4090 GPU. While other SKUs are available, they all come with the same 240 Hz 1440p IPS panel.  While it misses out on Asus' cutting-edge Nebula HDR displays, it has a decent 1440p resolution, a fast 240Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync certification.

Weighing in at 3kg  the laptop manages to impress immediately when checking its specifications. The display, however, is IPS panel and offers subpar brightness (just over 300 nits) and contrast (close to 1000:1 at best); despite its outstanding colour accuracy, a  captivating HDR experience lacks.

The Scar 17's keyboard and trackpad deserve praise. The membrane keyboard offers a pleasing tactile sensation, a streamlined number pad, and convenient function keys (including volume controls) that enhance the typing experience.

The Scar 17's membrane keyboard proves to be a wise option. Additionally, you can personalize the per-key RGB lighting through Armoury Crate.

The trackpad, though adequate, is somewhat small and shifted to the left, which may not suit everyone's preferences. It does, however, excel at avoiding unintentional inputs from your palm, guaranteeing precise control for gaming or other activities.

The top lid is adorned with an ROG logo and badge, but the design looks a bit unbalanced compared to the rest of the machine.

Can you comprehend that it holds a 16-core Ryzen 7000 processor, 32GB, m.2 NVMe SSD and a mobile GeForce RTX 4090?
