Performance - dGPU Extended Tests SMT Disabled
The Ryzen 7 series take a bit of a hit in multiple games compared to Intel. while we are not 100% sure yet what is the cause of this, it was suggested that disabling SMT could help game performance. SMT is the hyper-threading feature. Disabling SMT will run just the eight cores. The results are interesting, not all games benefit here. Neither do the synthetic benchmarks. However two games jump out, Hitman and Far Cry Primal. So there is definitely progress to be made for AMD here. With a GeForce GTX 1080 at 1080P we are CPU tied, and not GPU tied. Have a peek.
