Today we're reviewing a series of quad-core processors as released by AMD. The Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X that we test brings back that memory lane a few years ago, where quad-cores were the norm. The new Series 3, however, are ZEN2 based tied to accompanying benefits and have SMT enabled. Yeah, it is a very busy year processors wise. Both Intel and AMD have been hard at work offering you their finest in raw processing performance. The review today hardly will need an introduction, the smaller SKUs in the entry-level consumer space, quad-core processor in the Ryzen 3000 family, the Ryzen 3 series. With its ZEN2 architecture developed under the codename, 'Matisse' AMD has been introducing a line of processors starting at hexacore processors in the entry-level to mainstream segment. Followed by eight and twelve cores for the mainstream to high-end, and up to 16-core Ryzen processors for the enthusiast and more demanding end-user. It is jawbreaking when you think about what AMD has accomplished in, what has it been, two, three years' time?  This round, quad-core and sure, the new B550 chipset is coming up as well. AMD announced the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X desktop processors, available beginning in May for $99 USD and $120 USD respectively. These new Ryzen 3 desktop processors bring the “Zen 2” core architecture leveraging Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) technology for increased productivity. But is it enough anno 2020?
