Product Showcase

Alright, it's time for some photos. We received the two Ryzen series 2000G processors. Once you have one in your hand you realize these are a little heavy.

The Ryzen 3 2200G APU clocks in at a base-clock of 3.5 GHz, yet may Turbo to 3.7 GHz depending on load levels versus active threads. The Ryzen 5 2400G clocks in at a base-clock of 3.6 GHz, yet can Turbo to 3.9 GHz depending on load levels versus active threads. There is no XFR available.

Given its four-core architecture, AMD is really nicely managing that clock frequency. These APUs are great for properly fast desktop PCs, HTPCs and sure, even without a dedicated graphics card, a bit of gaming. Also, they will be excellent for small form-factor builds, which we'll do today as we use a Mini-ITX motherboard from Gigabyte.

For you to gain proper value, we'd recommend that you match this APU series with a cheapo B350 motherboard really, that should cost you like € 100,- / USD. Such a combo would bring you tremendous value. Tweak it a little and you'll have a very sweet rig. The one downside currently is DRAM prices. We recommend 2933 MHz or 3200 MHz and at the very least 8GB and preferably 16GB DDR4 memory.

We test with B350 today, this is the AB350N Gaming WIFI from Gigabyte, which is a very simple Mini-ITX motherboard, that gets the job done alright.
