Alright, it's time for some pretty pictures. Here you can see the AMD FX 8350 CPU. As big as any other Phenom or Athlon II processor you have seen.
AMD FX series CPUs will fit on Socket AM3+, your Socket AM3/AM3+ CPU cooler remains compatible with AM3+. We fitted the good old OCZ Vendetta cooler without any issues, though eight cores do produce more heat as our tests will show you. So in the end we advanced to water-cooling in order to overclock a little as well.
The laser inscription on the FX 8350 CPU (SKU codename) is FD8350FRW8KHK. This processor will become available at a 195 USD MSRP.
We'll be testing the FX 8350 on a 990FX based motherboard from ASUS, the Crosshair V Formula. We have a full review on that one here. Combined, an excellent platform with heaps of features and possibilities.
