AMD FreeSync Review With the Acer XG270HU Monitor -
The Acer Predator XG270HU Monitor
The monitor has button navigation for relatively quick access to OSD settings, allowing users to switch display parameters with a flick of a finger. It is not exactly the most user friendly menu though.
Not very charming too look at but you'll notice the connectors at the bottom side of the screen. You'll see that oh so important DisplayPort connection. Well aside from the power connector. The Monitor includes DisplayPort 1.2a for native WQHD output and with FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and delivers very smooth gaming experiences. For FreeSync you MUSt use the Display Port connector.
The build quality is terrific really, very stylish and sturdy. The XG270HU features a slim profile, that makes it pretty well suited for multi-display setups as well. It looks awesome alright.
BTW included in the package are
- G270HU Widescreen LCD Monitor
- 1 x DVI Cable
- 1 x Displayport Cable
- 1 x HDMI Cable
- Power Cord
But if you sit straight in front of it, admittedly, this is a pretty good TN to look at, blazing fast though with its 1 ms (GTG) response time.
Yeah, that's TN alright right there. If you move your head up/down/left/right ... you will see a rather narrow view-port. Viewing angles are an issue with TN. But as long as you are in front of the screen you it's all good of course.
