Memory Read test
Obviously we also had to peek at memory bandwidth performance. AMD uses merely a tweaked version of the STARS (Athlon II / Phenom II) design memory controller so we can't expect the bandwidth numbers a Sandy Bridge processor pumps out. But there's definitely a measurable performance difference.
Memory Write test
We did the same with the memory write tests. While Intel absolutely dominates with the memory controller based on-die Nehalem family processors, the Llano memory controller is quite good.
Sandra Memory Index
One more memory test, here we make use of the Sandra Memory performance test, it gives us an index score of overall memory performance.
