Performance OpenCL

Open Computing Language (OpenCL) is a framework for writing programs that execute across heterogeneous platforms consisting of central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), digital signal processors (DSPs) and other processors. Example, OpenCL can be used to give an application access to a graphics processing unit for non-graphical computing. Because a lot of extra hands make less work, the hundreds of little processors on a graphics card being the extra hands. But cooperation with the main processor keeps being important to achieve maximum output.

So this OpenCL test suite is new here on Guru3D.com, basically GPGPU kicks in on the IGP. Due to the fact that this test is new, we added only two results, the Core i7 4770K and the AMD A10-6790. Four tests are included, OpenCL Video Color correction, Image Noise Reduction, A physics Soft body test and then Good old fashioned Julia rendering. It's no doubt that OpenCL performance for AMD is intensely strong compared to what Intel has to offer. Slowly but steadily we see more and more OpenCL (compute) performance being added into modern day applications, Adobe PhotoShop for example is one of them.
